Abstract / Description

To conclude P4HE's Q2 2025 learning journey, this webinar delved into the crucial role of media literacy in fighting health misinformation, especially among vulnerable populations. The webinar went beyond our shared understanding of the importance of combatting misinformation to advance health equity by discussing how we can build media and broader information literacy and advance truth-telling in pursuit of improving health outcomes for all. The goal of the webinar was to outline specific actions steps that individuals, specific sectors, and cross-sector collaborations can take to advance health equity through information literacy, trust building, and truth-telling. 

Webinar Objectives:

  • Foundational Knowledge: Recap key learnings from Q2, including our co-created definition and framing of misinformation and disinformation and their importance in today’s health information landscape.
  • Insight into Media Literacy: Discover how media literacy can enable you to effectively evaluate the credibility and reliability of health information.
  • Practical Tools and Techniques: Learn actionable strategies to build trust, improve media and information literacy, and increase truth-telling.
  • Collaborative Action Steps: Outline specific steps that various sectors can take to combat misinformation and promote health equity.
